About Zen Jitsu Kai

Zen Jitsu Kai has been offering instruction and training in Martial Arts and Self Defence since 1995.

In that time, we have trained local, state and national champions as well as teaching self defence to women, men, children, law enforcement and security officers.

Zen Jitsu Kai incorporates Karate, Ju Jitsu and Kick Boxing, with a strong belief that all Zen Jitsu Kai Students must continuously adapt and improve their skill set, learning how to transition between different martial arts techniques depending on the situation.

A student might be standing and striking one moment and then take the fight to the ground for grappling the next.

We leave our ego at the door and train to the best of our ability.

Also, Self-Awareness plays an important part in self defence, as the situation and circumstance we find ourselves in dictates the outcome.

We teach our students to be aware of what is going on around them and who is involved.

Violence is a last resort and the more skilled you are the less likely you are to need to use force.

Our values

These values shape our focus, propelling our clubs identity, and influencing the quality of the martial arts we deliver.

Respect

Respect is a crucial element in any martial art school. Respect the dojo and your insrtuctor, respect your training partner and most of all respect yourself

Self Control

It takes skill and self control to advance in martial arts. Anytime you are training with a partner you must have the control to work with a partner not just trying to overpower them.

Discipline

We expect discipline in all our students. Discipline to train to the best of their abillity, and to put in the effort required to acheive their goals.

Evolution

We believe that to be effective in todays world, while still upholding traditioal martial arts values, we must evolve and focus on real world application of techniques to work in the modern era.
